About Presque Isle
Presque Isle is the largest city in Aroostook County, Maine. The “County” is roughly the size of the states of Connecticut and Rhode Island combined and covers the entire north portion of the State of Maine spanning from the Canadian Provinces of New Brunswick to Quebec. Presque Isle is the service hub of the County with an international airport, large regional hospital, a shopping mall, several large hotel properties including two national chains, and three institutions of higher learning. While nighttime population is just under 10,000, population during the day swells to between 25,000 and 35,000 as residents of neighboring communities and adjacent New Brunswick (only 15 minutes away) arrive to shop, dine, work, and study. The City boasts a new $15 million recreation center with indoor walking track, a splash pad, playground, baseball and soccer fields, and public market pavilion. With outstanding outdoor recreation and direct access to 2,300 miles of groomed snowmobile trails and 1,300 miles of ATV trails, make the Star City your destination for viewing the 2024 solar eclipse!
